Volunteers have been busy this weekend setting up shelter sites in the city of Lexington. The city is prepared to accept 350 evacuees over the next few days but can handle as many as 750.

Designated shelter sites include Centenary United Methodist Church, Northeast Christian Church and Dunbar High School. Evacuees are scheduled to begin arriving early Sunday morning.

Other cities in Kentucky accepting evacuees include Louisville, Bowling Green and Owensboro.

After what happened after the last wave of refugees hit our city I hope that our jail will be ready for this.
