LFUCG Code Enforcement officers are cracking down on University of Kentucky Students.
Thursday the entire code enforecment team and Lexington Police swept throught two student neighborhoods, handing out hundreds of citations for code violations.
David Jarvis, Code Enforcement Director, found trash cans overflowing, filth lining the streets, broken windows and gutters, as well as illegally parked cars.
Jarvis says the crackdown is aimed at making the neighborhoods safer and healthier for all who live there.

that needs to be done in every neighborhood. will fant drive, is a bad one for debris.

they ask them to follow rules they dont the whole area was litter strowm junk out side they just want the area cleaned up and the mothers are not there to do it for them so someone has to make them do it its not they are bad kids they just have bad habits you cant do this in other areas of town without some one being held accoutable no its not a plice state type of thing

Today I saw a car towed because it was "too close" to a stop sign but there was not any yellow lines. I just saw a truck ticketed for parking in a yard when it was clearly on a gravel driveway. When I mentioned that to the officer, he just rode off. BTW, its not my truck. Is this crack down any more than just a way to raise revenue?

Why won't UK give students more and more homework, Evidently, they don't have much to do if they are partying all the time. Do something to help others if you got nothing better to do. Help people with their homework, or Parents or other neighbors or etc.

Bravo! Now, if they could just eliminate the unruly parties! I used to live in the UK slumtown and as a student who worked, I found it rather embarrassing to see so-called educated people living like slobs.

Not many people realize that these neighborhoods don't have city garbage service. We have to pay private companies to pick up our garbage. It' not the students...it's the owners who charge inflated rental prices and don't bother to tell their renters how to get their garbage picked up who need to be fined.
