You could say they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jockey John Velazquez and his horse fell over another horse in the seventh race at Keeneland on Friday.

The incident happened after Whacka Whacka, ridden by Jamie Theriot, clipped heels with another horse and took a violent fall. Tap Dancing with John Velazquez aboard were behind the pair but couldn't avoid the wreck. Tap Dancing tripped over Whacka Whacka and went down. Both horses managed to get up and gallop off.

Theriot was able to get up and walk off the track but Velazquez required urgent medical attention.

Track veterinarians say neither horse was seriously injured.

I pray for the quick recovery of this Hall of Fame-bound jockey. He is a great rider and has over 4,000 career wins to his name. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
