Rush hour on Leestown Road in Lexington is a nightmare. But city officials hope to eliminate the bottle-necked traffic situation by turning the two lane road into a four lane road.

Making Leestown wider is something city officials have been discussing for quite some time, but the much talked-about project is now in the planning phases.

City officials hope to begin the preliminary work for the project in the next few months, but the entire project--which includes: widening the road, connecting it to other major roads, and adding more entrances--won't be done for four or five years say officials.
