A major winter storm is on the way to the bluegrass state. Local high water issues are possible early Wednesday and that will be followed up by heavy snow and sleet. Significant accumulations are likely Wednesday night and Thursday.
Lexington is slowly but surely recovering from the double-impact winter storm.
Roads crews will cease working 12-hour shifts and go back to their normal schedules tomorrow. However, they will continue scraping, salting. Crews from the Division of Waste Management continued to pick up limbs and other debris from the ice storm, and electric crews say they will be working hard to restore power to the more than one thousand people who are still in the dark. In Fayette County, there were still 1,450 households without power Wednesday afternoon. Some 41,000 were without power a week ago.
