Pro Basketball To Lexington

Lexington is in store for a new type of excitement, a professional basketball team is on the way.

The Bluegrass Stallions are an ABA team that will be based in Lexington.

The Stallions will start to play in November, exactly where is still to be decided.

But, one thing is for sure, former UK basketball great, Kyle Macy, will be their coach.

Macy says he hopes to attract players from the area, including Georgetown College and the University of Kentucky.

I think Lexington is lucky to have Kyle as a coach...I cheered a season while he coached at Morehead, and was part of EK Miners CBA Team while he was general manager...In fact I would have loved to have had him as the coach for the Miners....Give him a chance before you start bashing him. KY is a basketball state do you really think another team to watch play basketball at a higer level is a bad thing?? ABA doesn't intend to have a sold out arena....and the tickets usually arent as expensive as college games are in Rupp Arena....I think this could be an exciting year for the Bluegrass Stallions, and I intend to support Kyle Macy and his basketball team.....GO KYLE!!!! I know player's on that Morehead team he coached. They said he was hardly ever at practice. Maybe they meant he will be the head free-throw shooting coach....

Uh, Viking mom, don't you remember what he did in Morehead? In summary, he stunk and said that no one could win there Um...Tyndall just won the OVC championship there. Yeah, he is a really good coach.

You are correct Bob... You are wrong mom of marching viking, just look at how well Macy coached Morehead State (terribly)... They have no chance

Great. They need to make sure that lots and lots of taxpayer dollars are standing by to subsidize this failure of an idea.

People are too obsessed with UK to care about a pro team. I give them 2 season's before they fold. Especially if they play at Rupp--they will never be able to afford it. But maybe this team will win a game or two unlike UK...just don't let "billy g" get on the floor and try to "teach" something.

This is good news but, the only people that will be able to afford to come and see the games is the politicians.
