A man is dead and his wife has confessed to the crime.
The shooting happened at the Charleston Area Medical Center in West Virginia Saturday afternoon. Police say a woman was arguing with her estranged husband who was being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit. Hospital staff reportedly asked her to leave. She returned later with a gun and shot her husband, Sammy Stewart, in the head. He died from his injuries.
Stewart reportedly turned the gun over to a physician at the hospital and later confessed her role in the killing to police. She is facing murder charges and has been lodged in the South Central Regional Jail in Charleston. Her bail has not been set. She is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
