Police searching for hit and run suspect with previous offenses

The search continues for a man police say hit someone with his car then took off.

Lexington Police are looking for Hector Alviter-Rivera.

They identified him last night.

Investigators say his car hit 24-year-old Anthony Gibbs Saturday night as Gibbs was crossing Nicholasville Road near Surfside Drive.

Gibbs is now in critical condition at UK Hospital.

He's from Tennessee and was in Kentucky doing construction work.

Lexington police say they have named a suspect in last night's hit and run that left a man critically injured.

They say Hector Alviter-Rivera hit 24-year old Anthony Gibbs on Nicholasville Road around 10 o'clock last night and drove off.

Gibbs, is from Clinton, TN.

He was taken to UK hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say Alviter-Rivera will be charged with leaving the scene of a collision and tampering with physical evidence.
