A roller coaster weather ride for the weekend

Updated: Fri 7:18 PM, Mar 15, 2013

A cold front rolls into the Ohio Valley later tonight and this boundary stalls out for a few days. A couple of waves of low pressure will develop and roll eastward, giving us rounds of showers. That will set the stage for a strong cold front to blow through here late Monday.

We could even hear a rumble of thunder late tonight and early Saturday. Some small hail will be possible.

Wild temp swings will be noted during this time. We start Saturday in the 50s then drop later in the day as the front slides in. Saint Patrick’s Day Sunday will feature a lot of green… on radar. Rain will be widespread as temps stay in the chilly 40s for highs. Monday will see thermometers head back into the 50s to near 60 as showers and storms rumble through.

That will set us up for another much colder than normal period.
