LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - We now know two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash that shut down Nicholasville Road (U.S. 27) at the Fayette-Jessamine County line just before 4:00 on Friday.
The coroner's office says 43-year-old Rebecca Quinn of Lexington was pronounced dead on the scene around 4:45 and 46-year-old James Quinn died at UK Hospital around 5:15 Friday night. The coroner says both victims died from multiple blunt force trauma.
Two others were taken to nearby hospitals with multiple injuries.
Investigators on the scene told WKYT that a red Ford truck traveling southbound on Nicholasville Road crossed the center line and hit a Kia and a Chevy head on.
The northbound or inbound lanes of Nicholasville Road were closed for several hours after the crash.
Gary Ginn, the Fayette County Coroner, says, "The vehicle is mangled pretty well because it was hit head on by the F150."
At this time, officials have not released the names or ages of those who were injured in the crash.
