LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)- Lexington Police are still investigating a crash on Winchester Road near Greenbrier on Monday, March 25th.

"I saw his headlights and I thought we were dead," Amanda Todd, the victim explained.

Out of the hospital for less than a week, Todd says she feels lucky to be alive. She and her family were headed home to Winchester from Lexington on the evening of the 25th when they were hit. Police say 37-year-old Anthony Green swerved into her lane and he'd been drinking.

"I remember screaming at him 'Why were you drinking? You could have killed my family!'" Todd said.

Todd had to be cut from the wreckage and uffered a large cut to her face and a a broken arm. Todd says she also has back, leg and head injuries.

She swerved in an effort to keep her husband and their two older children, 7-year-old Kylie and 3-year-old Brayden, safe. She says she's thankful her 6-month old baby girl, Addie, was with her mother.

"I know that god saved us. Everybody has said there's no reason why I should have walked out of the hospital a couple of days after this happened."

As Amanda Todd and her family continue to recover from the horrible accident, she says she wants one thing from Green.

"I want to know if he feels sorry. I almost lost my entire family that night. I just want to know that he's sorry for what he did."

Police tell us Green suffered a broken leg and was cited for driving under the influence for a second time. As Todd faces mounting medical bills--in excess of 60-thousand dollars--she says her insurance will only cover so much and that Green didn't have insurance at all. But dealing with that stress she says is far better than the alternative.

"Thank goodness we are ok."

Todd says she had only had the van she was driving for four days.
