A band of heavy rain continues to sink southward into the region. We will have to keep a close eye on this later this evening into tonight. The rest of the forecast remains unchanged with a major winter storm moving in late Wednesday and Thursday.
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Loved ones are mourning the loss of a Scott County man who died on his honeymoon.
Friends tell WKYT John Mark Addison Bell, 55, drowned last Friday in North Carolina while swimming in the Atlantic Ocean. Friends say Bell and his wife went for a evening swim. He was caught by the undercurrent and drowned.
Bell was a member of Grace Christian Church in Georgetown for more than 25 years. He played bass and drums in the church's band.
The worship pastor at the church says Bell was one of the most positive and dependable men he knew.
"A very giving person. He was always giving of his time," Preston Clay said. "Even though he had a full time job, he was also doing some flipping of some houses, but he made sure to be at practice every time we had practice, whether it be early evening or late evening, he was really dedicated to it."
Bell worked at Toyota and had five children and three stepchildren. He will be buried in Corydon, Indiana.
Grace Christian will have their own memorial service for Bell on Monday at 5pm.
