MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officials say human remains have been found in Magoffin County, which is near the home of a man who went missing in February.
Police say they received a call Friday about possible remains, and Saturday Kentucky State Police confirmed the remains are human.
On Saturday afternoon police, rescue and K-9 crews returned to the scene in the Johnson Fork area of Magoffin County to further their search. During that time they located more remains near the premises.
These remains were found in the same area where we reported in February Freddie Brown, 29, suddenly went missing.
Officials received several different accounts of where he was last seen and due to a lack of information, they suspended the search.
When we spoke with Brown's family members, they told us that they did consider his disappearance to be suspicious at the time.
Of course we will not know if these remains are indeed Brown's until the autopsy results are released.
At this time, police have not yet released who initially found the remains.
