Judge: Tavern can allow pole dancing in southern Ky.

ADAIRVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A judge has ruled that a tavern on the Kentucky-Tennessee is allowed to offer pole dancing.

Officials in Logan County, Ky., had denied an entertainment permit earlier this year to tavern owner Sheila Haley, after she said she wanted to offer paid pole dancing at the Tenn-Tucky State Line Bar.

The Daily News reports that Logan County, Ky., Circuit Court Judge Tyler Gill issued a ruling Wednesday ordering Judge-Executive Logan Chick to issue a permit. Gill also said a section of state law giving judge-executives "unfettered" discretion in issuing such permits violates the Kentucky Constitution and the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

Chick issued the permit Friday, but prohibited drinking on the Kentucky side of the bar.

Haley's attorney, Alan Simpson, says he anticipates appealing the prohibition.
