LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT)-Lexington Police are investigating after several cases of vandalism have popped up in two neighborhoods.

The first few cases popped up in Shadeland, which backs up to the UK Arboretum. The next cases were in Palomar, off Harrodsburg Road.

"Painted grafitti around all four sides," Det. Mike Sweeney of the Lexington Police Department commented as he pointed out the damage to one home in photos.

Sweeney has been investigating four cases of criminal mischief in the Shadeland neighborhood. Last may, three homes on Tateswood Drive, which backs up to the UK Arboretum, were painted with grafitti. A fourth home was hit on January 2cnd of this year.

Just a few days later, on January 10th, 4 homes were hit in the Palomar neighborhood.

"We believe it is connected," Det. Travis Overton said. "From viewing the photos, it look similar."

As Lexington Police Continue to investigate, they say more than 100-thousand dollars in damages has been done. They say there was between 10 and 50-thousand dollars in damage at each home. Officers say they need your tips to find the person or people responsible.

"There are no gang signs or tags. It just appeared to be malicious," Overton said.

"There's no connection between neighbors. None of the victims have any clue who would have done this," Sweeney said.
