KINGSTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A gas station robbery Tuesday night was Madison County's fourth in less than two weeks. Police believe the same person could be behind all four.
The latest robbery happened just before 10 p.m. A man armed with a gun came in demanding money and left with cash.
"I heard my coworker scream, and I heard the guy make some remarks to her and tell her to shut up, and it was over with and he was out the door," said Kathy Stapleton who manages the store.
Stapleton says she had been warned about the robberies.
"The State Police had warned us to be on the lookout for it so we were kind of expecting it, but hoping it wouldn't happen," she said.
Kentucky State Police are investigating the Kingston robbery. They're also investigating a robbery from the Bybee Grocery on November 30.
Richmond Police believe two robberies they are investigating were committed by the same person.
On December 6 the D&G Citgo on Main Street was robbed. Two days later the Redi Mart on Redhouse Road was held up at gunpoint. Richmond Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the robber.
Kathy Stapleton says she's worked the night shift for years and doesn't plan to change her habits.
"I am always on guard, looking, see who parks, who comes and goes," she said. "When they come in, I always try to make eye contact."
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s about 5'7" and 140lbs. He was last seen wearing a plain black hoodie, grey toboggan, blue jeans and a dark brown bandanna around his face.
