Scattered storms will develop into the afternoon hours and a few could be strong or severe. High winds and hail will be the main impacts.
Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are on the way to central and eastern Kentucky. We will also see an increased risk for strong and severe thunderstorms Thursday into Friday.
Here's a breakdown of what to expect:
- Showers and storms will be scattered this evening into tonight... especially across northern Kentucky. Some of these could be strong.
- A few clusters of storms will roll into central and eastern Kentucky late tonight into Thursday morning. Some of these may be strong with heavy rain.
- The best severe weather threat comes late Thursday into Thursday night and Friday. That's when a strong cold front crosses the state. Severe weather is possible ahead of this front. Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes will be possible.
- Cooler and drier air works in for the weekend.
