Rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms continue to pound much of central and eastern parts of the state. Rainfall totals are between 1 and 3 inches for many areas with additional heavy rain possible overnight.
Most areas are now under a Flood Watch through early Friday.
Rounds of strong and severe thunderstorms will continue to rumble across central and eastern Kentucky through Friday. Damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning and heavy rainfall will be likely with the clusters of storms. Isolated tornadoes will also be possible.
The prime time for severe weather comes later tonight into early Friday. That's when a strong cold front crosses the state.
In addition to the severe weather potential. flooding rains will be possible. A FLOOD WATCH is out for much of northern and eastern Kentucky through early Friday.
Cooler and drier air will filter in for the upcoming weekend.
