Police on UK's campus remain on alert after getting two strange reports, both from the main library on campus.

Investigators say a man was crawling under tables and puncturing the feet of students with a sharp object.

Students are starting to go in and out of the library by the numbers, with finals quickly approaching.

Most want to put their best foot forward, spending extra time studying. But the recent crime has them concerned.

For many UK students, news of crime in their library is nothing they expected on campus.

"It kind of makes me want to watch my feet! It's odd that someone would be playing with somebody's feet," says freshman Amber Hatchell.

Odd, but true.

UK Police say--twice--victims have reported a person crawling under their study tables in the basement of W.T. Young Library, and then puncturing them in the foot with an unknown object.

Students admit, it seems funny at first.

"Well, it sounds really comical, but honestly, it's really scary because it's such a ridiculous thing. Somebody's climbing under a table and stabbing someone in the foot," says freshman Andrew Trower.

"I was scared. We're now having assaults happen in our campus library? The weirdness of the assault is creepy," says sophomore Scotty Stutts.

Campus police are reviewing surveillance video, hopefully a step forward in finding out who did this.

As thousands of students prepare for their end of the year exams, they'll be on their toes.

"I won't be in the basement, if you know what I mean," Trower says.

"I've thought about putting on my steel-toed boots now," says Stutts.

The "foot stabber" is described as a white male, between 5' 8" and 6' tall, with short hair. People who saw him say he was wearing a hat and had on bright orange shoes or shorts.

The suspect will face fourth degree assault charges.
