LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Beginning Monday, May 20, Jennifer Palumbo will add 4 p.m. WKYT anchor duties to her day in addition to anchoring the Fox 56 Ten O’Clock News on WDKY.
After getting her start at WYMT in 1994, Jennifer moved to WKYT where she worked her way up from weekend producer to a weekday anchor role. While she took a break from the business in 2005, she returned to the newsroom in 2007 for the launch of the Fox 56 Morning Edition. For the past four years, she has anchored the 10 p.m. news.
“I know Jennifer will do an outstanding job anchoring the 4 p.m., making an even greater contribution to the newsroom and reinforcing the strong partnership between WKYT and WDKY by being an important part of both stations,” said WKYT news director Robert Thomas.
Palumbo’s expanded responsibilities come as WKYT says goodbye to Stacy Ellison on Friday, May 24.
Ellison and her family are returning to Jacksonville, Florida, where they lived before moving to Lexington in 2006.
“After initially coming on board to do traffic part-time in the morning news, Stacy took on even greater responsibilities by becoming a trusted, kind, and familiar face among our anchor team,” Thomas said about Ellison.
On May 20, Whitney Wetzel joins the team as our newest reporter. Whitney, a West Virginia University graduate, comes to Lexington from WDTV in Bridgeport, West Va., where she has been a reporter and anchor.
