A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is out for for much of northern and eastern Kentucky until 9 p.m. This is just east of the Lexington metro.
Bitterly cold air has settled in and it doesn't look to go anywhere heading throughout the afternoon. Our highs will settle in the upper 30s to lower 40s today, but at least we will have plenty of sunshine! About a 10° swing for Thursday's high putting us around the 50°. Friday will be mainly dry, but we could squeeze out a stray shower.
Our weekend will be MUCH warmer than what we are feeling now. Highs will be in the 60s which will feel great. On the other hand, with a warmup comes some rain. Saturday could see a few showers, but it'll be more of Sunday where we see the better shower and thunderstorm coverage.
Guess what? A front moves through next week that will give us another blast of cold air and a possibility of flurries/snow showers.
