This evening in the company of family, Lieutenant Governor Mongiardo and fiancée Allie Patrick were married in a private ceremony in Covington, Kentucky.

The wedding was held at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, a landmark church built in 1910 in the style of Norte Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The couple was married by Father Stan Puryear of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bowling Green, KY.

“The ceremony was everything we dreamed it would be,” said the new Mrs. Mongiardo. “We couldn't be happier to start our new life together and are blessed to have our families share in our special day.”

“Allison is truly one of the most remarkable women I have ever met, and I am blessed to now have her as my wife. I know she will prove to be a wonderful asset as—together—we work hand-in-hand with all Kentuckians to move our state forward,” said Lieutenant Governor Mongiardo.

The bride’s father, Dan Patrick, walked her down the aisle. Her sister, Sarah Patrick, served as Maid of Honor and the Lieutenant Governor’s brother, Vincent Mongiardo, served as Best Man.

I went to high school with her, she I think she's 26 or 27... NOT right out of high school. :p I'm surprised they didn't use their relationship to mud-sling during the campaign. They were dating then, too. I didn't know her personally but I think she was pretty nice. I don't think she'd be the type to marry for money. Everyone is so judgmental. Maybe they are soul mates, who cares about age? They are both adults, everything is legal so who cares?!

Who's to say that they weren't made for each other regardless of the age difference, sometimes it really takes a while to meet your soulmate, just let them be happy!Its no-ones bussiness but theirs, not gradys not yours!!

Everyone thought he was gay (or at least that was the rumor). Like Zatoichi said, this should put those rumors to bed. Thankfully he didn't marry Liza Minelli or those rumors would be true! LOL!

Good for Dan. I can see why some of you older people might have a problem with someone choosing to go with someone who isn't as aged as you. And the girl is an adult, so if you were her father you don't get a say, gramps.
