WASHINGTON (AP) - The House has rejected a Republican
alternative to a Democratic climate bill. The vote set the stage
for passage of a bill that for the first time would limit U.S.
greenhouse gases linked to global warming.

The GOP proposal was defeated 172-255. The measure would have
scuttled a proposed cap-and-trade system to cut greenhouse gases.

Instead, it called for an aggressive push for research on a
broad range of energy programs from solar power and development of
biofuels to radioactive waste and nuclear fusion.

Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., said the measure would establish the
goals needed for energy independence. Democrats said the measure
was little more than a call for more studies.

Socialism is the govt. control of every thing. Industery, markets, hospitals, personal freedoms, etc. I'm not sure what you have against the free market, as you call it. If you really live in Letcher co. your job is probably more tied to the coal industery than you think, if you even work. You mentioned the guy with no name, well what does EB stand for. Enviromental biggot. The democrats might have control now, but their days are numbered.

Well, Ralph, you sound like you thought your eighth grade attendance certificate was a terminal degree. Wrong. You probably would have a hard time defining communism and an even harder time looking it up. It's just more of the same with guys like you, Chad and the one who won’t even give his name. The Republican fat cats wouldn’t use you for anything but cannon fodder or a shoe shine but you can't stop licking their boots. The Republicans don't have a plan. They only want to stop any progress from coming out of Congress, but their day is over. So is yours. And Chad, same on you as Ralph with socialism. Define it without looking it up. You can't. You’re just a natural tool.

At the rate our schools are turning out graduates which can't read, is there any wonder why our congressmen don't take time to read the bills? Could it be that it is not that they won't take time to read then, they just can't read them?
