Two players from the mountains are up for a state wide weekly honor. Jason Powers of Whitley County and Demtri Travis of Perry Central are two of six nominees for the Army Iron Man of the Week.

Powers had 14 rushes for 177 yards and four touchdowns in the Colonels 52-12 win over Newport. He also had a 2-point conversion. Travis was all over the place for the Commodores. He racked up 379 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs in Perry Central's dramatic 33-32 win over Letcher Central. Travis scored his 3 TDs on a run, a catch and an interception return.
