The Sapphire Coal Student-Athlete of the Night is Samantha Stewardson of Betsy Layne.
Stewardson has a 4.05 GPA and is ranked first in her class. She is also senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society. Stewardson plays volleyball and the the Lady Cats won the 54th District title Thursday night by knocking off Allen Central.
