Hunter Adams Wins Army Iron Man of the Year
Hunter Adams of Middlesboro picked up a major award for his ability to play on both sides of the ball.

NASHVILLE , TN – The U.S. Army Nashville Recruiting Battalion is proud to announce that Middlesboro’s Hunter Adams is the Army Iron Man of the Year in the battalion’s Kentucky recruiting territory. During the campaign, more than 20,000 votes were cast from fans across the state voted for the Army Iron Man of the Year. Adams received 4,926 votes to beat out Harlan County ’s Nathaniel Gilliam who had 3,847 votes. As the Army Iron Man of the Year for Kentucky , Adams will receive a customized, championship-quality ring from presenting sponsor Jostens.
Adams was the week six Army Iron Man after rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns while recording 12 total tackles, forcing one fumble, and returning a kick-off for the game-winning touchdown with 16.7 seconds remaining in Middleboro’s 28-21 win over Clay County. Playing and excelling on both offense and defense, the Army Iron Man must demonstrate physical and emotional strength, as well as strength of character. The Army Iron Man embodies the qualities of Army STRONG.
