Hilton and Holcomb Go For Perfection
Two Mountain coaches head to Louisville with perfect records in title games.

Dudley Hilton and Mike Holcomb have yet to lose a state title game.
Hilton won a title in 1991 with Bell County and another in 1997 with Bourbon County. Holcomb has claimed three titles with Breathitt County. Two of those titles came in back to back years in 1995 and 96. The third came in 2002 with a thumping of Corbin.
Fun fact: What two coaches have won the most state title games without losing one? Hint: They're both 5-0.
Answer: Dennis Lampley with Trinity and Lynn Ray with Covington Catholic. Both coaches won their championships in the 80's and 90's.
Fun fact: What coach has gone to the most state title games and not one won? Hint: He is 0-4 and lost all 4 games with a team in the WYMT coverage area.
Answer: John Cain. He lost all 4 games with the Somerset Briar Jumpers in the 70's and 80's.
