Several Mountain Players Have Big Week
Here are some of the better performances by Mountain basketball players from the past week.

Here are some of the better performances by Mountain basketball players from the past week.
Boys
Madison Johnson (Corbin) - He averaged 23 points and 5 rebounds and was named Cumberland Falls Tourney MVP. He also had 19 points and 6 rebounds in the Redhounds win over Lexington Catholic.
Charlie Banks (Letcher Central) - Was the difference maker in all of the Cougars games in the Mountain Schoolboy Classic, inclduing 31 points against host Belfry.
Jecorey Fields (Harlan) - Had a triple-double of 10 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists against Coeburn, VA. Fields also had another triple-double earlier in the season.
Derek Daniel (Somerset) - Daniel averaged 21.3 PPG in the Briar Jumpers three victories in the Union County, TN Holiday Classic. The Briar Jumpers claimed the championship.
James David Strange (Pineville) - During a 4 game span the Senior averaged 27.8 PPG, 5.56 RPG and 2.3 APG, including 38 points against Harlan County.
Dillon Stiltner (East Ridge) - Stiltner had a big week averaging 29.1 PPG along with 4.1 assists and 3.3 boards.
Girls
Kourtney Tyra (Jackson County) - Tyra had her usual big week of 22 PPG, 6 APG and 5 RPG in leading her team to 4 wins.
Chassidy Lawson (Harlan) - Lawson racked up three double-doubles, while averaging 15.7 PPG and 11.7 RPG.
Meg Latham (Somerset) - Latham averaged a double-double over a 4 game period of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Her efforts helped lead the Lady Jumpers to a championship in their most recent holiday tournament.
Chelsey Smith (Pineville) - The Lady Lions are ahead of schedule and a lot of that has to do with Smith's play. In her last 5 games, she has scored at least 23 points in every game, averaging 25.8 points per game. She also pulled down 6 boards and had 5 steals per game in that stretch.
