Cougar guard Tyler Adkins hit a three-point basket as time expired to send the game into overtime before the Cougars pulled away in the extra period for a 61 - 51 win over Montgomery County in West Liberty.

With five seconds left in regulation, Indians' guard Nic Hendrix made the two free-throws to give Montgomery a 45 - 42 lead. Then on the ensuing inbounds, Adkins crossed half-court and knocked down a game-tying 23 foot bomb to give the Cougars new life.

The momentum continued to swing Morgan's way in overtime. Jarred Smith converted an old fashioned three-point play while Joel Nickell scored in transition. The Cougars also hit 12-of-15 from the free-throw line, including a combined eight-of-10 from Adkins and Tanner Roy to close out the 10-point victory.

"It was a big win for our team," said Cougar head coach Matthew Perry. "We can now see some light at the end of the tunnel. It puts us in a tie for third in the district and--for right now--give us a 50-50 chance of avoiding Elliott County in the first round. At this point, a
50-50 shot is better than no shot at all."
