Lawrence County loses 3-2 in 10 innings

The game had drama for Lawrence County. Unfortunately, it didn't have a win for the Bulldogs. They fell 3-2 to Owensboro in 10 innings in the opening game of the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament.
Lawrence County got on the board in the bottom of the first on a Sam Burton Sac Fly to right. Shane Pack barely beat the throw home to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
Neither team could get any offense going until the sixth. That's when Davey Murphy hit a 2-run homer to left for Owensboro putting the Red Devils up 2-1.
Lawrence County was down to its final out in the bottom of the 7th when opportunity met hustle and resulted in the game tieing run. Nick Bush of Owensboro tried to pick Ramsey Compton off first. The throw got away allowing Compton to score all the way from first making it 2-2.
Owensboro would break the tie in the Top of the 10th when Yantae Williams singled just past the reach of Chandler Shepherd at second, scoring Jacob Nalley. The Red Devils went up 3-2.
Lawrence County couldn't score in the bottom of the tenth bringing the Bulldogs season to a close with a record of 23-16.
