Woodland Owners Short Course
Aug 25, 2012 8:30 A.M.-4:30 P.M.
Cedarmore Camp
The WOSC is run on a regional basis with a full Saturday program in the East, Central, and West regions of the state.
The regional programs have been developed by local planning committees with local needs in mind and cover a wide variety of subjects. Some topics covered include: how to receive a fair price when you sell timber, making your woodlands wildlife friendly, wild boar issues, tree id, tree planting, emerald ash borer and much more (see brochure). The WOSC is one of the best woodland educational opportunities available in the state for woodland owners; however, anyone with an interest in forestry or wildlife will benefit from attending.

The WOSC will be held in 3 locations in August (August 4 -- Whitley Co.; August 11 -- Marshall Co.; August 25 -- Franklin and Shelby Co. This program is a great opportunity for families to learn how to enhance their woodlands and get the most from their ownership experience. Most woodland owners are not aware of the wide variety of organizations and programs available to help them care for their woodlands. The primary mission of the WOSC is to assist Kentucky’s woodland owners in the care and management of their woodland resource.

More than ten Kentucky forestry, wildlife, and natural resource organizations work in partnership to plan, and conduct the WOSC. http://www.ca.uky.edu/forestryextension/WOSC.php
