Elizabeth Dorsett's Kentucky Bourbon Cake
Posted: 7:47 AM Dec 21, 2011
Reporter: Elizabeth Dorsett

Cake:
1 box yellow cake mix (Duncan Hines)
1 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
1/4 cup water
3/4 cup Cisco
4 eggs
1/4 cup pecan pieces

Topping:
1 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 stick pure butter
3 tbsp. water
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/4 cup bourbon

Directions:
Grease and flour a tube pan. Sprinkle pecans on the bottom. Mix all cake ingredients well and pour over pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and leave in pan. Puncture several holes in the cake for filling (kabob sticks work best).

Combine everything but bourbon in a saucepan and cook until boiling and sugar is dissolved. Add bourbon and boil a few minutes more. Pour over hot cake that has holes in it. Let it sit in pan at least 15 minutes so the topping is absorbed by cake. Enjoy!
