Folks in one Kentucky community were put on alert Friday night after two possible mountain lion sightings.
Two people, from two different Ashland neighborhoods, claimed they spotted a mountain lion or cougar.
Ashland police put out a citywide mountain lion alert.
A wildlife expert says that, while it's not common, it wouldn't be impossible for a mountain lion to venture into town.
"Todd Kelley:don't approach them, don't try and make them your friend. Call 911 and we will come out with animal control," said Major Todd Kelley of Ashland police.
Folks say they're taking extra steps to keep children and pets inside until the alert is over.
