Perry County Sheriff's Deputies are warning people about counterfeit bills.
They have received numerous complaints about fake $50 bills being passed around to local stores. The bills do have some imperfections, but deputies say it is easy to be fooled.
"One thing that we ask businesses to do is use their pens, use their detection pens, hold them up to the light, look for the water mark, look for the strip in the left hand side and it will have the denomination on it with usa. also on bills 1 through 100 you will see and blue fibers in them," said Chief Deputy Tony Eversole of the Perry County Sheriff's Department.
So far, they have only recovered around a half dozen fake bills and no arrests have been made. If you notice anything suspicious, you should call them.
