MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Three people face charges after police say some suspicious packages led them to marijuana.
It's the result of an investigation from the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, and the US Postal Service.
Investigators say the packages were sent to different addresses in Mercer County.
Around 11 a.m. Thursday, police arrested 47-year-old Gary Wiley and 46-year-old Laura Wiley in the Salvisa community.
Both are charged with trafficking marijuana greater than five pounds.
Deputies say they seized a large amount of processed marijuana, a handgun, and a vehicle.
Just before 4 p.m. Thursday, police arrested 55-year-old Ricky Merriman, as part of the investigation.
Merriman has been charged with trafficking marijuana, trafficking controlled substances, and operating on a suspended license.
Mercer County sheriff's deputies say they seized another large amount of processed marijuana, a large amount of Lortab prescription pills, $6,000 in cash, and another vehicle when they arrested Merriman.
