Crime Stoppers: Woman racks up charges on stolen credit cards

Posted: 7:24 AM Jan 31, 2012

In late 2011 and early 2012, police say the woman used stolen credit cards in several Lexington businesses. Police say the woman is heavy set and always has children with her.

"We don't know if she's the one actually stealing the credit cards, but she's seen in all the videotape using them," said Detective Robert Sarrantonio.

Officers also aren't sure where, or when, the cards were stolen. They say this should be a warning to all women to be careful.

"A lot of times, with these cases, women aren't sure that the credit cards are stolen because their wallets are still there, their purses are still there. Sometimes, they may not realize the credit cards are gone for several hours or a day, leaving a window of opportunity to rack up charges," said Det. Sarrantonio.
