Crime Stoppers: Bank robbery suspect may be connected to other crimes

Lexington Police say a man who robbed a bank on Leestown Road at knifepoint may also be responsible for other crimes in that area.

Police are now asking for help finding the suspect.

Police say the man ran into the Chase Bank on Leestown Road around 2:15 p.m. on September 15.

He then held up the bank with a knife, and handed a teller a note demanding money.

"He was hearing a hoodie, face mask, and sunglasses," Lexington Police Detective Timothy Upchurch said of the robber.

Officers believe the man is around 5'9" and 175 pounds. During the robbery, he also told the teller he had a gun.

"Who don't know who he is," Upchurch said. "He could be connected to other crimes in the Leestown Road corridor."

Police believe the robber is still in the Lexington area.

"We believe he possibly lives in the area, we just don't know where," Upchurch said.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
