Crime Stoppers: Robber in surgical mask hits store

On January 27th of this year, police say the clerk working inside a market on Lansdowne Drive was held up at gunpoint.

"What was unique was that he said it was wrapped up in a cloth or sheet," Detective Steve McCowan

During the hold up, police say the suspect asked the clerk to load all the cash in a grocery bag. Officers describe the suspect as a short black man, dressed in dark bubble coat, khakis and white shoes. He was also wearing a surgical mask. Police and the clerk think the robber may have been to the store before.

"He felt the person may be familiar with the place because it's one of those that you have to be buzzed into the store. So, we feel like he knew that once he was inside, he knew he'd have an opportunity," Detective McCowan said.
