HYDEN, Ky (WYMT) - It is a good day to be a student at Leslie County High School.

On Monday, Hyden Citizens Bank presented a check worth almost $6,000 to more than 100 students.

The money will cover costs for students taking dual credit classes at Hazard Community and Technical College.

The school's principal Kevin Gay said this money will help their students be college and career ready.

"HCTC dramatically reduced their fees and then with Hyden Citizens Bank stepping in to partner with us to completely eliminate any fees for those dual courses are really great for our students," said Gay.

Gay added they have seen an increase in students taking dual credit courses during the last few years.
