PIPPA PASSES, Ky (WYMT) - Most students who graduate from Alice Lloyd College walk away debt free.
That is thanks in large part to scholarships.
On Saturday, officials with the college announced a one million dollar donation made by Judy Perry.
The money will fund four Presidential Scholarships.
Those funds cover tuition, room and board, books and even guarantee money for each recipient to use later on at a professional school.
Alice Lloyd College President Joe Stepp said this generous donation will allow more students to succeed here in Eastern Kentucky.
"We want them to be able to come back home and not owe money. They are the doctors, the dentists and the educators and they tend to do a wonderful job here in the region," said Stepp.
Stepp said 83 percent of Alice Lloyd graduates return to the area to work.
