PIKEVILLE, Ky (WYMT) - A Pike County musician is celebrating a big accomplishment.

On Friday, Elkhorn City native Dave Adkins learned his song "Pike County Jail" is number one on the bluegrass charts.

His CD "Nothing to Lose" is available on iTunes.

Adkins, who is preparing to tour across the country, tells WYMT he always keeps Kentucky close to his heart.

"One of the first things I say is I'm from Pike County, Kentucky, Elkhorn City. You know, folks know me by saying that and it is always good to represent home," said Adkins.

Adkins said he will be featured on Sirius XM Radio's bluegrass channel in the coming months.
