Obama to sign homebuyer, jobless bill assistance
Longtime jobless people and prospective homebuyers will be the main beneficiaries when President Barack Obama signs a $24 billion economic stimulus bill today.

You guys, from Frankfort & Lexington need to realize that the Obama admin. is taking our jobs in eastern KY. He has turned the EPA into his agenda police. THe way to fix this mess is to create jobs, not take them away.

By help, I assume you guys are not talking about costing the country MORE money, sending MORE troops, and having MORE unemployed. So exactly what is he helping with? I'm all for helping out the unfortuneatly who have been laid off (by no fault of their own, not the lazy ones who quit and then blame the market) but there is only so long you can feed the unemployed money. Like I said, it only prolongs the problem. So far I've not seen anything to help it. His stimulus checks just got hoarded up and if people don't spend them it does no good.

It is true Bush and Cheney created a mess. All they wanted to do was send more troops to war and forget about the american people. At least we have an administration that is trying to help the american people. If you are so worried about the national debt, pay it yourself out of pocket. People that have never lost a job due to the economy, do not realize how hard it is. I lost mine after 29 years. I was near retirement.

When people are out of work, the economy suffers. HELLO. Can some of you realize that??? Of course not, you are too worried about the national debt. Well who cares about the national debt when you have people out there just trying to survive. I agree if you all lost your jobs you would want unemployment. Geoff, MG, and the others, just haters and that is why you all will NEVER prosper in anything.

I bet if some of you haters on here that lost your job due to the economy, you would want your benefits until you found something else. Never kick somebody when they are down because you might be next. Also, Obama and his administration will prosper but its haters like you all that will not. I bet if they sent you a stimulus check you would take it.

First of all, for those of you on here downing Obama trying to help the jobless, he is doing what needs to be done. If your factory was shut down, and moved to Mexico, and you could not find a job, you would want your unemployment benefits. Second, if you can do better, run for office. I guarantee you, the Republicans would let everybody starve and not give a dime to anybody.

Geoff: Sticking our heads in the ground and hoping that the American people stimulate the economy (which is what HAS to happen for it to work) would have been better than spending billions and billions of money that nobody has to do... well nothing! So what, now we've almost doubled our debt and haven't gotten a signle thing to show. Yeah Obama is trying really hard (sarcasm). Fact is it comes down to the American people and the media to make things better. Think about it, if the media had never told everyone "well it looks like a recession" nobody would have started panicking to begin with. You can blame Bush, Republicans, whoever, but it is really the people. The president and officials can only help point the way. I don't think Obama is pointing the right way, but it is still up to all of us in the very end. A good start would be to get the deadbeats off their lazy butts, off the drugs, and working though in my opinion.

Pitty we didnt have another republican president after Bush, we could have stuck our head in the ground another 4 or 8 years doing nothing about the predicament the country is in. 4 or 8 years more of no change would have irrevocably damaged the country. Obama clearly underestimated how difficult it would be to impose change, but at least he's trying. I always doubted he would succeed and the past year only reinforced that feeling. I dont think America is ready or ever will be ready for change. Countries that don't evolve, decline and perish (e.g. Roman Empire, Mayan Empire, Persian Empire)

If Obama were republican it would be a national outrage that he was spending another $24 BILLION dollars of tax payer money, but since he is democrat and black well I guess we can't complain right? I heard one of the bailout companies was wanting another $10 billion too... You know, Bush wasn't perfect. And you are right Anonymous, Obama hasn't had a full year yet BUT he has still found more than enough time to run this country even further and further into debt and the unemployment rate continues to rise. Change indeed. The change was obvioulsy to hand out free money to people without knowledge of where that money would come from or who would pay it back.
