The first ever Crime Stoppers telethon aired on WKYT Sunday afternoon.
The telethon raised more than $7,000 for the Crime Stoppers program.
The program rewards people when they call in with information that lands criminals behind bars. You provide tips anonymously. They provide you with a code so they never know your name.
When you make a call to Crime Stoppers, you get a code number, and that code is basically your name.
You can receive anywhere from $100 to $1,000 if your tip lands someone in jail.
Organizers of the telethon say it was a big success.
