A little after 8:30pm on June 4 Lexington Police say someone shot 33-year-old Steven Kavanaugh. Detective Matt Brotherton describes how police found the victim. "Officers who were on patrol in the area of Upper Street in between 6th and 7th heard a lot of gunshots. They ran up Elsmere Alley and found a male victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds."
That victim, Steven Kavanaugh, later died from his injuries. Police continue to search for answers in this case and for whoever is responsible for the crime. "At this point we're investigating this as a homicide and robbery and looking for assistance from the community".
