Crime Stoppers: Police search for man who used note to rob bank

Lexington Police say they need help finding a bank robber, who struck nearly two months ago.

On the afternoon of July 8, the man robbed the Chase Bank on Clays Mill Road.

"Presented a note to the teller, demanded cash, also said no dye packs," Det. Robert Sarrantonio of Lexington Police said.

Police say the man, who is believed to be in his 50s, was wearing a UK ball cap at the time of the robbery.

He had the teller put the money into a blue bag he'd brought with him. Police say after the robbery, he headed out the door, and went down Clays Mill toward Lafayette High School.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Call Crime Stoppers today at 859-253-2020. It's a free call, and it's anonymous.
