Crime Stoppers: Gas station clerk robbed at gunpoint

They threatened a gas station clerk with a gun, and demanded money.

Now, Lexington Police need help tracking down two robbers who carried out the crime at a Speedway on Richmond Road on August 28.

Police say two men, dressed in all black, walked in the store at 4 a.m. that day, showed a gun, and yelled at the clerk while demanding money.

"Made statements like, 'If you don't give me money, do you want to die?'" Lexington Police Detective Robert Sarrantonio said.

While the clerk loaded a plastic bag with the contents from the register, one of the suspects, armed with a rifle, grabbed a case of beer from the store.

As the two men left, police say they also helped themselves to cigarettes.

Now, police need your help identifying the two men.

"We are hoping someone heard about the robbery, maybe someone was bragging about it," Sarrantonio said. "We're hoping maybe someone can identify these men or recognize a piece of clothing and call Crime Stoppers."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
