Juveniles assaulted during home invasion in Boyle County

JUNCTION CITY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two juveniles escaped from a Central Kentucky home after police say a man broke in and tried to assault them.

It happened Monday night on Phillips Lane in Junction City, just south of Danville.

Police say a 12 and 15-year-old were in the home when a man came to the door brandishing a knife and threatened to stab them if they didn't open the door.

Police arrested 56-year-old John Hall, but not before they say he grabbed the 12-year-old, then hit her in the head with a rock when she got away.

Police say the two teens ran to their neighbors house to call for help. They say when they arrived they found Hall still in the residence. It was later determined that he is the uncle of the owner of the residence.

Hall was believed to be under the influence of narcotics at the time.

Hall is charged with burglary and assault and lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.
