Police: Woman steals from sister, runs over boyfriend in Laurel Co.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/WYMT) - Police in Laurel County say a woman stole from her sister, and then ran over her sister's boyfriend.

Amanda Colwell, age 27 of East Bernstadt, is in the Laurel County Detention Facility. She is charged with Burglary , 2nd Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, and Assault , 2nd Degree.

The Sheriff's Office got a call about a burglary on Tuesday. When they responded to Crystal Colwell's home on Philpot Road, she told them that someone had forced their way inside and stole a TV and DVD player.

Later that night , the victim and her boyfriend, Chris Robinson, called deputies to report that she had located her stolen items. The items were inside a Chevy Lumina, parked in the driveway of a home on Hensley Road.

Before deputies could arrive at the scene, the vehicle tried to leave the area. According to police, the driver apparently struck Robinson , who was standing at the end of the driveway. Deputies arrested the driver of the car, Amanda Colwell. Colwell and the victim of the theft are sisters.

Robinson was transported by Ambulance Inc. Of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London for treatment of possible injuries.
