State Police investigating another armed robbery in Floyd County

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - State Police in eastern Kentucky are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a business in Stanville.

It happened at the Cardinal Country Store at 1:45 a.m. Thursday morning. Troopers tell us an unidentified male came into the business, showed a weapon, and demanded money.

We're told an employee confronted the suspect, removing the bandana from his face. They say the suspect ran from the business out the back door, and then fled on foot.

The man is described as 6' tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, brown shoes, camouflage hat, and a light-colored bandana over his face. We've attached a picture of surveillance taken from the business. The man's description is similar to multiple armed robberies in the Floyd and Pike County areas over the past couple of months, including one at the same business.

Last week, a bank in Virgie was been robbed, the second business in two weeks that had been robbed in the small town. Police say the man left the bank with a getaway driver on a four-wheeler, driven by someone else. The driver is seen in the picture wearing khaki-colored clothing and boots. In surveillance pictures (attached), you can see the man covered from head to toe, armed with a gun. We've attached a link with more information. Pictures and a link are attached.

A man came in that day shoved a piece of wood into the clerk's back, pushing her behind a county. They say he showed a gun and demanded cash. He's described as a while male about six feet tall, wearing blue jeans, gloves and a mask. He's still on the loose.
