LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Three are behind bars in Laurel County after drug paraphernalia, uncapped syringes were found laying within arm's reach of a sleeping 7-year-old.
Laurel County deputies say they were dispatched to the motel early Wednesday morning.
Raymond Eggers, 29, Savannah Hill, 28, and Sally Hill, 51, are all charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor. Savannah Hill is also charged on a Pulaski County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court on numerous traffic violations. All three are listed in the Laurel County detention facility.
Deputy Gilbert Acciardo says deputies responded to an anonymous tip. He says Eggers and the Hills were cooperative and allowed investigators inside their motel room.
"I think sometimes people think our officers are not going to note or find things," said Acciardo.
Savannah Hill's son was found sleeping in a small tent on the floor, near the syringes. Bent spoons and pipes were also found inside, but no drugs. Acciardo says it's unknown what drugs they were using.
"There's no telling what could have happened," said Acciardo.
Social services was called to the scene and the child released to his father.
